Architectural Terracotta Columns

Architectural columns are imposing and stately elements found on all types of buildings, from institutions of higher learning, to Roman-themed casinos, to retail stores. Traditional architectural terra cotta has been used to construct many impressive columns, but the method used to make a lot of these terra cotta features is somewhat problematic. Many historical terra cotta columns were made by surrounding a structural steel support (which was often inadequately protected from the elements) with decorative terracotta column wraps. Improperly-protected steel tends to rust and corrode over the years, which causes damage to the surrounding architectural terra cotta. Therefore, it’s not surprising that many terracotta columns built decades ago are now damaged or completely destroyed.

If you have a building with terra cotta columns that are in need of a facelift or a total overhaul, we can help. TerraGlas specializes in terra cotta renovation and terracotta restoration. Whether your columns are merely chipped or the terra cotta cladding surrounding the structural steel supports needs to be completely replaced, our team of experts can meet your needs. We can manufacture:

  • Greek or Roman Corinthian columns in fiberglass reinforced terra cotta
